Our daughter Bailey recently had a birthday and for fun wanted to ride her bicycle along the shores of Bass Lake. It was a gorgeous spring day so we obliged. Our adventure begins at the parking area adjacent to Recreation Point at Bass Lake. With bicycles unloaded our journey encompassed the least traveled roads on the south side of the lake which offered the most safety and the best views of the magazine worthy lake. As we wound our way around the many turns through the dense forest, the uphills seemed to disappear as we chased each other with pedal power. We even rode on some of the new sidewalks recently constructed, all the while enjoying the great scenery while forgetting we were exercising. Then we turned around and did it all over again! If you find yourself in the Oakhurst/Yosemite area be sure to visit Bass Lake. And don't forget to bring your bikes!Thursday, April 24, 2008
